Hi there John...
Although I don't drive a model with the same electrical set-up as you, I believe I remember reading a post not so long ago from another forum member with a similar problem, and if I can recall it correctly, your rear light feed comes through the rear REC unit which seems to distribute the power to most of the back end of the car.
To check that this is not faulty, have you tried changing the bulb itself, which may have changed its resistance over time and be tripping the electronics.  Try swapping the left and right hand side bulbs over and see if the fault follows the bulb.  If the bulbs are OK and the fault stays on the passenger side, I suspect that you are going to have to investigate the REC unit itself - it may have water on the circuit board or some such simple fault, or it may be more serious, in which case you might have to swap it out with a replacement (Scrappy..??)
Best of luck... Cheers... Robin

Cheers pal, have tried using different bulbs and new ones but fault still there. One question for you tho, what is the REC unit? Does it look like a square plastic box about twice the size of a fuse?

Hi Robin,
Thanks for replying to my query.
It's my wife's Zaffy (1.8 petrol 120hp) that she had new and unregistered during June this year.
When I drove it last week I noticed that upon turning the ignition on it displayed 'inSP' which went out once the engine was started.
As the car is petrol and only 6 months old and having covered less than 4000 miles I am at a loss as to what it could be. I have checked the oil level and that is fine so tomorrow I will take it back to the supplying dealer to see if he can confirm that nothing is amiss and reset the message which appears above the total mileage odometer.
Shall keep you posted once it is resolved.

Thank you I'm starting to get the hang of it it's just a pity there is no DVD player as this would be a great addition but I'm happy with the navi 650 great navigation system ect and forgot to mention the T P M S for the tyres if you have to take it for a tyre puncture ect mind and tell the person doing the tyres that you have the sensors fitted so as they don't damage them taking the tyre of Good luck and enjoy your car

Ah! That's good advice.
I've heard nothing but bad news from friends that have TMPS on their vehicles so I didn't have it installed on mine but good to know for the future.

Thanks

Hi there, you need to get the codes read to give you a pointer towards any system faults that could cause the symptoms. It is a common issue, as you will see if you type, 'kangerooing' into the search box at the top of the page.

Once you have the codes you can post them here and the experts here can help you.

Good luck.

Poor running on startup

Hi all,
Wonder if anyone can help or point me at a previous post please.
I have 2003 1.8 auto.
When I first start it it runs rough, it's not even rough, accelerator pedal does nothing. Car just ticks over poorly, but literally 10-20 seconds, then it runs OK.
When I say ok I'm not convinced its at full power, but definitely not in limp mode, and no engine light.
Assume coil pack maybe, but didn't want to start changing things willy nilly !
Any advice or similar problems would be gratefully received,
Thanks,
Marc

Took the family 'bus' to dealer to have 'inSP' display reset.
Staff at dealers most helpful and came and reset the display whilst still in car park with 2 sleeping grandchildren in back.

Was told that VX had set the 'time' ticking in the memory at time of manufacture and that it should have been reset at time of sale.

Problem solved in the most amenable fashion.

Hi there Sanalkumar... Welcome to the Owner's Forum. I hope you will find it a useful source of ideas. help and advice.
With regard to your current posting, you don't identify which Zafira you are driving or what year it is, but I wouldn't initially associate the clutch by itself with kangarooing behaviour, unless you have a very jittery left leg..!! I'm still running on the original clutch, at 140,000 miles, and it is showing no signs of slipping yet.  It's actually more likely to be an engine management, EGR valve or fuel supply problem.  As diving dad says in his posting, you would be well advised to get the error codes read to point you in the right direction.
A very recent posting on the forum, eventually got to the bottom of kangarooing in the owner's vehicle , which was a 2005 Zafira B (post 2005) model, when the correct diagnosis turned out to be the fuel suction valve.....
The replacement part number the owner posted on the forum was: GM #55582723 - Regulator.
I would suggest that you investigate this before suspecting the clutch...
If you type 2Kangarooing" or some such phrase into the forum search box at the top of the page, you might find some relevant helpful information from previous cases posted here by forum members.
Best of luck... Cheers... Robin

Hi Robin,
Thanks for the reply.   The model was in the subject: Zafira 1.8 Design Petrol Manual 56reg kangarooing, 65000 miles.  how do I get the codes ?  Do I need to go to an authorised dealer ?  Will local garage have  that ?
Today morning's issue resolved by itself after it was switched off and on in the morning.  Initially the service light was on when the engine was on and so the car was not pulling.  But not sure if it will repeat tomorrow morning again.  I will update if it happens.
But the original problem a bit or kangarooing while starting moving still exists.

Remote Central Locking Keys not working

$

My two year old Vauxhall Zafira has two keys to operate the remote controlled central locking however both seem to be suffering from a similar problem.
Both started to work intermittently however the one with the fold in key stopped working altogether, so I replaced the batteries in both of them with the same make and spec CR2032.
The fold in key now will not work at all even after following the manuals prescribed way of re synchronising it, thankfully the other key is working so at least I have one key working.
I telephoned my local dealer who said they could book the car in for a free 15 minute consultation to ascertain if it was the keys or the actual central locking system however they cannot fit me in unless I leave the car there for several hours, as its coming up to Christmas I just cannot find the time to leave the car.
I am a bit confused as I don't understand why one key would work and not the other yet Vauxhall want to check the car itself.
Anybody got any ideas please
