Hi there Guy... And welcome to the Zafira Owner's Forum... I hope you find it a useful source of information to help you... The error code you have found, doing the pedal test, can have a couple of different meanings, depending on where you look up the translation....You don't say whether the emissions light came on and stayed on for ever more, or was not on the next time you went to start the car and came on again when you were driving, which would in fact indicate an intermittent fault, or even a temperature-dependant fault. As a generic fault code the meaning of P0140 is.. O2 Sensor Circuit No Activity Detected. - which could at its simplest just mean that the electrical connection to the sensor has come loose, and its now not talking to the ECU, which flags up the error code, or, at its worst, it could mean that the sensor you have is knackered and needs to be replaced with a new one. If that is the case, to replace the sensor you are not looking at a lot of money. BUT, if it is one of the other secondary interpretations listed, your emissions light could be coming on and registering this fault because another part of the system is not functioning correctly. And it could be something as simple as the EGR valve not opening and closing properly because it is too full up with soot and grunge and just needs cleaning. That would give a "dirty" gas-flow, which would set off an O2 sensor fault, and light up the emissions warning lamp. You might find more information to help you track this down here on the forum, if you type a relevant question - like "O2 sensor fault" or "Emission Light On" into the forum search box at the top right of the page. You will see how other forum members have dealt with the subject previously. Best of luck with your detective enquiries..! Cheers... Robin
