Advice on buying

I've had issues with one of my past cars with the DPF, which is why I won't buy diesel. The standard response for a DPF is "your driving style is wrong". The car in question got the occasional short trip, but 5 days a week on a commute down the motorway at motorway speeds, 40 miles each way.

Personal opinion, but from my experience and research, DPFs appear to be a ware and tear part that has between 60k to 100k miles of life in it. I don't buy super expensive expensive cars so the bill for it to destruct is half the value of the car or more!

Petrol cars will have something similar soon. There is no hope! :)
