Hi there and welcome to the forum... You are absolutely right in thinking this has come up before. If you enter "spanner light" or "limp home mode" into the search box on the too right hand corner of this page, you should find masses of information which might be useful. The most common solution to this with the 2.0 dti model seems to be to clean out the EGR valve and also the MAF unit on the air intake. After that you are into checking things like the crankshaft sensor and other sensors that feed information into the ECU. I don't think you should go first off for the ECU which is the most expensive replacement! Get your OPCOM up and running and read the codes first off. If you get an 0400 code that is the EGR!
