Emissions warning light

Hi All,

A warning light has just appeared on my dashboard. Accordingto the manual it's the emissions warning light.

I have checked this forum and have seen you need to find out your error codes.

My car is a 1.6 Life and when I get the car to show me the error codes this iswhat it returns.

It starts at the miles covered by the car up to press. Then cycles through thefollowing.

ECN 011515
ECN 111261
ECN 111262
ECN 000000

Then goes back to the mileage.

I cannot find a list of error codes that contains these codes.

Any help would be very appreciated.

Regards

Andy

Blower doesn't seem to be doing its job

Hi all

1st posting as new to this forum.

My partner has 02 1.6 Eco zafira and the blower/ de mister seems not to be working very well....on full it's making all the noise but very little air movement out of the screen vent and yes the position selector for the windscreen is on windscreen. Very little seems to be coming out of any vents. Any ideas? I think there's a small servo to operate the flaps on the main fan etc could this be the issue? would the pollen filter have any restriction if it hasn't been changed for a while...?

Any info would be great

Hi Andy, to read the meaning of these codes you need to prefix the first four numbers wth 'P' eg P1112 and P0115 etc then use the thread above your post or the search box at the top of the page to guide you as to where the issue lies.

Once you know that then come back with as much info as possible about your car, ie year gearbox type, recent sevice/work.

Good luck.

Hi Buzz, you not alone with fan problems it seems a common fault. If you type 'heater fan/blower not working' into the seach box at the top of the page you will see lots of threads with similar issues and some fixes.

Good Luck

Thanks for the pointers Robin... I've mentioned the EGR valve to my dealer but am holding back on everything else to see what they come up with. I've not yet got my car back from them, as of tomorrow they'll have had it for 5 weeks.

As much as I've come to trust them with various Vauxhall models I've had over the last 20 years I'm fast losing faith. Something smelt funny the day they started selling Ford too.

Tourer Headlights

I know there have been many comments here about standard Tourer headlights, but another year has passed and the dark nights are here again, so I thought it worth sharing my thoughts and seeing if anyone has any news.

Firstly my car - March 13 registered Vauxhall management Exclusiv 165 CDTi Auto. Bought 30th July with 2100 miles - now on 12252. Love the car, good seats, great engine now it gets regular work outs. I spend half my time in London and the rest up and down the motorway network so 44-50mpg is good. Running the standard tyres and wheels on the ECO setting of 41psi all round and the ride / grip are excellent.

Anyway, on to the lights - they are terrible, in some conditions I would even say dangerous. From Luton, I drove to Liverpool at night a couple of weeks ago and to Taunton last Monday night. On both occassions I had several hours to study my light intensity and spread on the road compared to others. Ignoring cars with Xenon or LED lights and concentrating on 10 plate and newer, I would say that anything on the road has better lights than my car. Even city cars like Hyundai i10's and Fiat Pandas.

A few weeks back I had my car looked at by my dealer, which is located on land previously part of the Vauxhall factory here in Luton; as a company they have been around at least 40 years and some of their service department managers have been with them since they were boy apprentises, and they say the lights are to spec. However, they gave me a Corsa as a loan car and the lights were just as they should be, with a bright even spread of well coloured intense light, illuminating the road properly.

Speaking to the technician, he explained that the Tourer has a new type of light. The single filament bulb doesnt move or change, it is the 'eye ball' lens that is mechanically adjusted to swap between dipped and high beam.

Looking in Halfords for an upgrade I noticed that their Bulb list shows seperate bulbs for dipped and main beam, so I insisted the lad come and take one of my bulbs out. He was somewhat amazed and dismayed to find a single bulb, with what appears to be a unique socket for the wiring to connect in place. Nothing they have comes close, and even his registration number linked database shows the wrong bulbs.

What are we to do to get safe illumination?

Does anyone know of upgraded bulbs that fit without any adjusting?

These cars have been around for over 2 years now, and they aren't exactly rare, why aren't there replacement bulbs, even standard ones, readily available outside of a Vauxhall Dealer Parts Department?

Your thoughts, comments and solutions would be greatly appreciated.

It could be a few things. First thing to check is that the alternator is charging the battery.  If its not the pump wont work.

If it is then check all fuses. If thats good. Check the voltage on the blue/white wire on the power steering pump with the car running. It should be 13v+. If its missing its a defective ECU/wire. If its 13v+ then its probably a dead pump.

Make sure the cambelt & water pump have been changed at the correct mileage. Just to be on the safe side.
