I have a 2003 1.6 for a few months and have had a continual problem with the water system. It loses water (slight drip at the front) so have replaced the clip of the bottom pipe that goes into the bottom of Rad. But my main problem is that the cooling system is very hot and will sometimes leak water out the top of the resivour tank. I have flushed the system through, put in new coolant etc, but the water system seems to have lots of pressure (which maybe it should have) but the water is piping hot. When I unscrew the cap very slowly, the water piles out the top.
But the temperature gauge on the dash shows the temp right to the left (Cold). So am not sure if the water pump is shot, the thermostat or something else.
Oil consumption seems normal and have no milky residue on the oil or water caps.
