Technical : Door problem - 57 Zafira

  I drive a 57 plate Zafira which developed a locking problem approx one month ago....

When using the central locking i found that not all the doors would unlock and different ones would lock and not lock, I have now noticed the following:

If i deadlock the doors (click the lock button twice) and then unlock using the keyfob, all the doors except the rear passenger door unlock (including the boot).

If i just lock the doors (not deadlock) and then unlock using keyfob, the boot always opens however none of the other doors open except the drivers door (and some times even the drivers door won't open - i have to do it with the key in the lock manually!)

The garage i normally go to had a look and he didnt think it was mechanically (when you are stood near the doors each one makes a noise as if trying to open) and advised it may be computer/software related. A autoengineer then had a look and he thinks it is the motors which operate the doors therefore advised i have the passenger and two rears replaced (at a cost of around £500).

I have since spoken to another garage (don't want to go to the vauxhall garage due to high prices!) and they state it is highly unlikely that all four motors would fail at the same time and would like their auto engineer to have a look before replacing the motors.

Any body experienced this problem before or have idea of the cause?

I think it is extremely strange that the doors behave differently depending on whether they are deadlocked or just locked and that the boot always opens regardless.A friend advised to disconnect the negative lead from the battery and leave off overnight to reset the computer.... i tried this last nite however today still same problem at moment -

If single lock....only boot opens, have to open driver door with key
