Opel Zafira Club 2008 1.6 petrol

Dear fantastic , problem solving, all knowing , all helpful Zafira owners ...

A fan blower problem ....i have read about a few of these on the internet ,, but mine seems slightly different ..
the fan blower , meaning the internal heating and blowing to keep you warm fan , works sometimes ...
then stops , then works ,, every time i turn the car on its different ..
Today, for example , i got up and went out to check it ... fan working ..
we later got in and drove to town ...fan working ..
after shopping drove home .. fan not working
got home unloaded car ,, waited a bit ..fan not working
tried it a few times changed setting etc ...fan not working .

OK ,, took out glove box to have a look ...fan working
so now I cant fix something that is not broken ....

This is very annoying now that it is colder weather..

Things i know
the fan works, so the fuse must be ok
when the fan works it runs on all settings , so the resistor pack thing must be ok
the fan it self can run , ipsofacto, the fan must be ok ..

This is a fan with a large round top and a kind of domed actuator on the side that opens when you press the recirclulate button .
there is a plug on the front side with the plug on it (brown and red/white wire ), I presume this pulls out , although i couldnt get it out and didnt want to break it ,, just in case ...

I was wanting to test for voltage there when it wasnt working to see if it was the fan or something else not sending the voltage , but now of course its working so it will test OK . I bet that tomorrow at 6:30 am with the frost and cold it doesnt work, is that how its suppose to go ?
Intermittent faults are the worst ,  any useful , deep insites or advice, or anything that may help from out there?

Thank you
