Hi Matt... I personally would persevere with trying to get the Zafira fixed at the cheapest cost possible. You don't say if you have had a second opinion from an independent mechanic on your problems... That can be a worthwhile exercise. I remember when my injector pump went turning a £2500 estimate from the Vauxhall Franchise into a "My pump rebuilt and car back on the road" for around £600+ just by getting a second opinion...!! If the steering pump has gone completely, you could have a look around for a second-hand rack from a scrappy... I remember changing the rack out on my daughter's boyfriend's Mark III Mondeo at a cost of around £40 for the rack from a scrappy and £10 for new steering fluid... It got the car back on the road at the minimum cost... I think that if you still like the car, and if I were in your shoes, that I would set about getting it fixed because that makes more sense than buying yourself into another possible load of trouble with a different car that you don't know anything about.. Good Luck... Cheers.. Robin
