Hi there Jim and welcome to the Owner's Forum. I hope you find it useful. From what you say in your posting, it looks as though you currently have the 2 litre low pressure turbo model engine in your vehicle, and you need to be aware that the replacement Y20DTH engine you mention is actually the quite different High Pressure Turbo variant. - The low pressure version you have should be designated as either X20DTL or Y20DTL. There is a bit of a difference in both the electronic and the physical set-up of the two systems, in as much as in the Low Pressure version the post turbo metal delivery Air Pipe connecting to the inlet manifold is routed straight across the top of the engine with a U bend to connect directly onto the inlet manifold under the vacuum EGR valve. Whereas in the High Pressure Y20DTH engine, the metal delivery Air tract pipe is longer and routed round the right hand end of the engine and down to an intercooler unit situated in the airflow behind the front bumper area before being routed then back up via a large diameter rubber hose, to the centre of the Air Inlet Manifold under the EGR valve set-up. The Low and High pressure systems share many common sensors but the respective MAF and ECU control systems are also quite differently set up to work at the different pressures.. You will need to be careful how you effect the engine transfer, if you are effectively going to change the Low Pressure system for a High Pressure system and you will almost certainly have to get the Engine Control Modules re-mapped to work with the existing vehicle control systems. This may sound complicated, but if you have someone near you with a "Vauxhall Friendly" OpCom Diagnostic Software system (Around £25 off Ebay sellers) you can hook up a laptop running the OpCom software and take charge yourself of many of the essential bits that need to be re-programmed in the ECU's etc. I just hope you have a reasonable amount of basic knowledge...? Best of luck and feel free to ask any questions you need to... I LOOK FORWARD TO READING THE NEXT INSTALLMENT.!!...Cheers.. Robin,
